The Family Education and Support Centre provides professionally run parenting courses and support groups, information and support services for adult mental wellness, children’s programming, multicultural services, seniors programming and community development. The Family Education and Support Centre has promoted knowledge, growth and diversity for over 40 years! Our mission is to facilitate growth and development in families and communities while responding to the need for information, education, resources and support. 2011 Local Maple Ridge Craft Fairs

Who doesn’t LOVE a craft fair?

Always plenty around the Maple Ridge area at this time of year.

Kick Off starts with the craft fairs to end all craft fairs. This weekend is The Happening at Thomas Haney Secondary. It’s a juried craft fair, so expect the best of the best in crafting, and great opportunities for picking up unique handmade Christmas Gifts. The Fair runs through the weekend (November 26th and 27th) at Thomas Haney Secondary, 23000-116Avenue, Maple Ridge, BC, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Haney Farmer’s Market presents the last market of the season and the best! It is a Winter Market filled with jewellery, lotions, creams and crafts for Christmas giving. Christmas cakes, cookies, candies for Christmas eating!

Discovery Playhouse Children’s Society is holding our 11th Annual Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Admission is $1.00. Over 50 Craft Tables and many super Raffle Prizes. Table Rental Info at 604-465-2470 or on-line at recreg4u.ca.

The Downtown BIA in Maple Ridge is holding it’s annual Old Fashioned Christmas Market on December 3rd in Memorial Peace Park This event coincides with the Christmas Festival and the Santa Parade and is being held in the covered parking lot on the north side of Memorial Peace Park.
The event goes from 4pm-8pm and features holiday music, roasted chestnuts, delicious apple cider and other yummy festive treats. There will be free door-prize draws, and balloons. This is a great chance to find some great gift ideas.

Pitt Meadows Youth Park Opening

Had the pleasure of attending the official opening and ribbon cutting of the new Pitt Meadows Youth Action Park. It’s a really cool park- but I was afraid to walk down the walls into, let alone do something like this.

Help Portait Ridge Meadows

Find a person in need. Take their picture. Give it to them.

That’s the simple concept of Help Portrait, and international day of photographers giving back by taking portraits of people in need.

Help Portrait is taking place in Ridge Meadows on Dec 10 2011 at two locations: Pitt Meadows Heritage Hall in Pitt Meadows, and St Andrew’s United Church in Maple Ridge.
