The jury is out, the paintings have been chosen and a month long celebration of Cranes, in conjunction with local author Annette LeBox’s new book “A Circle of Cranes”  begins this weekend with the opening of Garibaldi Art Club‘s show Cranes! at The ACT, Maple Ridge. Join Annette and local artists at the Opening Reception, this Friday March 24th at 7 pm.

Golden Ears Writers, Annette LeBox and The Maple Ridge Times are sponsoring a writing contest. Fiction works of 500 words that must include the noun “crane” are to be submitted to the Times before April 9th. The first place winner will receive $50.  1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive a Golden Ears Writers tote bag and a copy of Annette’s new book. Rounding out the month is Annette’s book launch, A Celebration of Cranes featuring dance, art and music.  Join Annette and the Maple Ridge Dance Circle,  Bergthorson Glee Club, Pam Carr,  Iris Del Castillo and local fine artists at this free event taking place April 22nd, 2 pm at St Andrews Haney United Church.
