Lobby Nights at the ACT in Maple Ridge  have begun, and new this year is the incorporation of literary arts into the evening programming. Local writer’s group, Golden Ears Writers begins their series of monthly evening groups at 7 pm on Tuesday, Sept 21 with a welcoming “Writer’s Jamboree”, where writers get a chance to mix and mingle, participate in some facilitator led writing exercises, and enjoy some snacks and door prizes.

Golden Ears Writers began meeting in the spring, and the group has blossomed into a twice weekly critique group, in support of all levels and genres of writing.  The facilitated critique groups meets  on the first and third Friday of each month, in the Lobby of the Maple Ridge ACT, from 1:30 pm to 4:30pm. There are no forms to fill out or fees to join this group, just bring copies of your work and expect to feel very welcome.

The group is led by two talented Maple Ridge Writers, Katherine Wagner and Ronda Payne.  Katherine was a long time education columnist as well as a non fiction writer, but now has found passion for Gothic inspired fiction.  You can learn about her and her work  on her website, Northern Lights Gothic. Ronda is a professional copywriter, a freelance writer and writes part time for the local paper.  Her business, Eyben Connected Communications provides copy writing services to business for web and print.
