Maple Ridge’s annual free alternative outdoor concert takes place this weekend, July 3rd from 1-8 pm. Enjoy a safe drug and drink free punk/ska/metal and hardcore concert on the bandstand at Memorial Peace Park, organized by the Adstock Society to promote and to encourage youth to pursue music by offering an opportunity to showcase their talent.

At 12:30 pm, The Canada Flag will be raised and celebrations begin at Memorial Peace Park. From 10 am to 3 pm, enjoy a variety of entertainment and activities for family.
Celebrate the history of Maple Ridge and spend Canada Day at haney House. This’ year’s carnival atmosphere includes games, face painting, free popcorn and cold drinks, crafts, coloring contest, and the ever popular dress-up chest. Tour the new display in Haney House from 1- 4 pm. 11524 224th St. This event is completely free, donations in support of Haney House will be much appreciated and put to good use!
Pitt Meadows Canada Day
The 8 km Althetes In Kind run kicks of this year’s Canada Day Celebration in Spirit Square. Enjoy a pancake breakfast before the raising of the Canadian flag at 10:30 am. The day continues with multicultural entertainment and some great events for kids, including a bike parade and poster contest.
Canada Celebrations at The Fraser River Heritage Park include a a huge variety of events from Dog Agility, Loggers, bike show, Kids Zone, music and entertainment. Well, we know that Spring forgot to stop in this year, except for maybe on Pitt Meadows Day. I’ve I’m holding my breath as I type this, but it seems that Summer has finally arrived- and just in time for the Maple Ridge Garden Club’s 2011 Garden Tour. 
Enjoy a self guided tour through eight private gardens in the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows area, with proceeds from tickets going to The Sunshine Foundation “Dreams for Kids”. Bring your picnic lunch and enjoy a beverage at the chosen “Picnic Site”.
The tour takes place Sunday, June 26th from 9 am to 4 pm. Oh and if the rain appears again, don’t worry. This event is rain or shine.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at Triple Tree Nurseryland, Amsterdam Greenhouses and Garden Center and Trice Farms Pond and Garden Center.

This Tuesday, Maple Ridge Concert Band will be performing a Summer Wrap Up Concert, which marks the beginning of the band’s Twilight Tuesday concert series, a summer long weekly concert series at Memorial Peace Park in Maple Ridge.
Bring your lawn chair to enjoy the warm summer evening and the mix of symphonic music, big band, traditional hymns, dixieland and Broadway. Concerts begin at 7 30 p, and continue weekly in July on the 5th, 12th and 19th.
